Yerba Mate Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to begin?
A yerba mate blend, a vessel, a bombilla, and warm water are enough for a first setup.
How hot should the water be?
Around 70°C / 158°F is a useful starting point. Boiling water can produce a harsher cup.
Does a natural gourd need care?
Yes. Follow its curing instructions, empty it after use, and allow it to dry completely in moving air.
How do I clean a bombilla?
Rinse after each session. Periodically soak and use a narrow brush to clean the inner channel.
How much yerba should I use?
Traditionally, fill roughly two-thirds of the vessel. Use less while learning if you prefer.
